Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield has created a viral Youtube video offering his four steps to staying optimistic while practicing self-isolation. They include: staying informed, but only from credible sources to avoid unnecessary panic; and setting goals to accomplish, even if they are small and short-term.

Chris Hadfield is best known for his 146-day mission aboard the International Space Station, during which he was socially isolated from all but his five crew members. During his stay, he created a series of educational videos and received significant media exposure when he recorded a version of David Bowie's "Space Oddity" in space, which has received 45 million views since it was released in 2013.
